Moving through winter: building up gently with type 2 diabetes

Learn how to keep moving through the cold, dark months with type 2 diabetes. This course teaches you how to find your starting point, build up from ten minutes a day, and keep going when winter gets in the way.

Moving through winter: building up gently with type 2 diabetes

    Lessons

Winter is the season when movement quietly slips away. The days are short, the pavements are wet, and the sofa looks more inviting than the walk you planned. This course helps you move anyway, in small steps that fit your body and your week.

You start with ten minutes and a simple talk test, not with a sports programme. Over five lessons you map your own week, build up walking, strength and balance at home, plan for cold, dark and tired days, and finish with one personal plan you can keep using after the course.

    Course Lessons

    1. 01: Why moving helps, and why starting small works
    2. 02: Your moving week: see where you start
    3. 03: Building up step by step: walking, strength and balance
    4. 04: When winter gets in the way: cold, dark, tired or sore
    5. 05: Your long-term moving plan
